About the Artist, Jessie Schroeder Voss

There couldn’t be a more custom fit organization for me to work with. Having grown up with a CEO father who was also a Captain in the Marine Corp, serving two tours in Vietnam and earning two Purple Hearts, I’ve also had a passionate respect for our Country and those who serve at a young age. I have heard very few stories to this day about my dad’s experiences overseas. But the things I have heard, stick with me. Like how when my dad returned and married my mom he would awake from nightmares and tackle her to the ground reliving his terror.
My parents always had a dog...from the day they were married till today. Big shephards, Goldens and Labs...always a protector around. I would watch my dad lay on the ground beside our dogs just petting and talking to them...like their connection was a lifeline. The healing power they have is imeasurable.
Now, my husband and I raise my son with a black lab named Tank and teach him the importance of God, Family and Country.
I am honored to be a part of making these Custom Canine steins and mugs for an organization that will bring Vets together with Dogs that provide peace and speak a language of healing to those who have given so much for us.

I have always had a love for pottery…all shapes, forms, and techniques. I remember walking around art shows as a child with my mom absolutely enamored with all the colors, textures and designs of the various artists. Later on in college, I fell in love with the unpredictable nature of all that encompasses ceramics. I would find myself racing to the ceramics studio after my business classes, eagerly anticipating the unloading of the kilns.
All these years later, I am still as excited to unload a kiln and see what awaits me. I believe I have found something truly exciting and fulfilling to do with my life. I strive to provide people with beautiful, handmade dishes and decorative pieces for their homes. My passion for ceramic art has continued to grow stronger over the years. In my studio in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, I create original functional and decorative ceramic works.
My pottery is made by hand on the wheel or slab built one at a time using durable white stoneware. Each piece is one-of-a-kind with a rustic, yet still contemporary look which I achieve through using modern glaze styles and colors, and multiple glaze techniques. I draw my inspiration from all things around me; beautiful fabrics, culinary arts, decorating trends, nature…you name it.
The collection you see today was inspired by a trip to the Museum of Modern Art in NY and standing in front of Gustav Klimt's breathtaking work of art, Hope II. My breath was taken away. The details of his tiny circular patterns, bold color pallet...all lead me to this organic, bold collection you see today. I use lead-free, high fire oxidation glazes on all of my pieces. All dinnerware is microwave, dishwasher and oven safe. Gather in a kitchen or around a dinner table adorned with handmade ceramic pieces, and you can't help but smile! Enjoy!
